2011 Census - Dissemination Area

A dissemination area is a "small area composed of one or more neighbouring dissemination blocks, with a population of 400 to 700 persons." It is the smallest unit that all Census data is released at.

There are three fields in the file that provide basic statistical information:
  • DAPOP11 - the 2011 population of the Dissemination Area
  • DATDWEL11 - the total private dwellings
  • DAURDWEL11 - private dwellings occupied by usual residents
